SECRET HOTEL TIPS FROM HOLIDAY TRAVEL INTERNATIONAL

Tip No. 1
MAKE THE TRAVEL AGENT YOUR FRIEND

Get to know the travel agent booking your trip. Holiday Travel agents will champion your hotel selection by contacting the hotel directly to ask for special room locations, upgrades, and favors.

Tip No. 2
CHECKING IN

On arrival at the front desk at any hotel… you should be happy, friendly and always smiling. Your attitude will determine the room condition and location. More influence may be applied by offering the front desk person a $20 tip for an improved room. Do it in a quiet manner, so that other check- in guests don’t hear or see you making the offer. If you are at a 5 star hotel make it $100.

Tip No. 3
LOOK AT THE ROOM

If you are traveling on the cheap and especially if you booked your hotel on an online hotel booking source, you will get the crappiest room. Go to your room look at it and if not happy go back to the front desk and then offer $20 saying that you are disappointed in the room and can they do anything to improve the room? Be happy when you explain your disappointment and remember that the front desk person has “power” to please or dis-please.

Tip No. 4
TIP THE HOTEL MAID

On arrival in your room put $2.00 in a hotel envelope for the maid, and make it with a thank you. You will be surprised at how the service will improve with extra amenities. At a 5 star hotel make it $5.

Tip No. 5
THE CONCIERGE

Greet the Concierge and make them your best friend. They can offer many suggestions and recommendations for a better stay at the hotel and the restaurants and sights nearby. Only offer a tip after a service has been offered ($5.00-$20.00).
